SDKs & infrastructure

SDK

A Software Development Kit, or SDK, packages APIs and supporting code for integrating a service in a particular language or runtime.

How it works

An SDK can handle request formats, connection lifecycle and response parsing, reducing protocol code in an application. Capabilities differ between client and server libraries. A public source repository also does not necessarily imply that the same version is already published to a package registry.

In a Pubb integration

Pubb provides guides for JavaScript/TypeScript, .NET, Swift, Kotlin, Python, Go, PHP, Java, Flutter/Dart and Ruby. Choose the appropriate SDK role for each part of your stack and follow that guide's installation method.

A practical example

A Swift app uses a client library to subscribe while a Python backend uses a server library to publish and authorize channels. Each library serves a different trust boundary.
