Webhook

A webhook is an HTTP request that one system sends to another system's endpoint when an event occurs, enabling server-to-server notifications.

How it works

Webhooks target a backend URL, while browser realtime subscriptions usually use an ongoing connection. A receiver should verify the sender according to its documented signing mechanism, validate content and handle retries safely. Receiving a webhook can start a workflow that later notifies connected clients.

In a Pubb integration

Your backend can turn a verified third-party webhook into a Pubb publication. This is an integration pattern, not a claim that Pubb exposes a general outgoing-webhook delivery feature.

Publish an event

A practical example

A payment provider calls your backend with a confirmed payment event. After verification and database updates, your backend publishes invoice.paid to the customer's authorized channel.
